Slow broadband

I think Kaspersky is slowing my broadband. At the router or where my desktop is situated Ookla speedtest is showing download speeds of about 48 Mb/s, as is my provider BT, which measures it at the router. The laptop does not have Kaspersky on it and just runs the Microsoft security suite. The servers used are in London.

On my desktop several different speed checkers are showing on average about 10Mb/sec, the highest being 12.87, the lowest 2.45.  All the servers used are in Frankfurt.

 

I conclude that Kaspersky, either the software or the routing through a server in Frankfurt, is slowing my service unacceptably. Is there anything I can do to improve the situation or do I need to stop using Kaspersky?
