When try open a website setup in configuration of Safe Money, the error message below is showed.

Run error when starting Protected Browser: “Failed to run Protected Browser”

  1. Operating system version & build → in Windows search field, type winver, a small popup will show the information?
  2. Which KTS version patch(x), x = letter; on the Windows Taskbar or hidden icons, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select About
  3. Has the “Failed to run Protected Browser” error always happened?
  4. Is the “Failed to run Protected Browser” error happening on any other bank or finance site? 
  5. Which browser is being used when  “Failed to run Protected Browser” error happens? 
  6. Which extensions/addons are installed & enabled in the browsers? 
  7. Has a KTS Settings Reset been done?

    Win 10 Pro versão 1903
  2. Which KTS version patch(x), x = letter; on the Windows Taskbar or hidden icons, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select About
    KTS 21.2.16.590. No patch has been showed me. 
  3. Has the “Failed to run Protected Browser” error always happened?
    Yes
  4. Is the “Failed to run Protected Browser” error happening on any other bank or finance site? 
    For all sites setup in KTS Safe Money
  5. Which browser is being used when  “Failed to run Protected Browser” error happens? 
    Chrome 89.0.4389.82
  6. Which extensions/addons are installed & enabled in the browsers? 
    Cisco Webex, CollorZilla, Googledocuments offline , DuckDuckgoPrivacy Essentials
  7. Has a KTS Settings Reset been done? 
    No. How do I run the reset?

Do the following steps carefully please:

  1. Check whether any applications installed on the computer are incompatible with KTS & remove any conflicting software ? 
  2. Create a System restore point
  3. Close all browsers and any other applications.
  4. Uninstall KTS, save License information only, do not tick any other check boxes. 
  5. Shutdown using Shutdown, not Restart, power on, login. 
  6. Download  KTS v21.3.10.391
  7. Install KTS v21.3.10.391
  8. Shutdown using Shutdown, not Restart, power on, login. 
  9. Run a manual Database update → allow it to complete.
  10. Run a Full scan → allow it to complete.
  11. Start SafeMoney - Chrome, recheck  “Failed to run Protected Browser” error?
