Threatening to lock me out [Solved][Closed]

Hi there,

I am trying to log into My Kaspersky. I had to change the password quite recently but My Kaspersky is saying that it is incorrect. The password that I am using is very strong and I know it well. The system is now threatening to lock me out if I get it wrong one more time and I don't know the implications of this.

I'll reset the password if necessary but it won't let me do this without entering my current password!!!!!!!

Can someone please help as this is getting silly and I am getting more and more frustrated!

Thanks, in anticipation of your help.

Ron.

Hello @ron.dullage,
Welcome!
Allow me to check please, the topic is in Kaspersky Password Manager, and your problem description states, unable to sun into My Kaspersky.
So, may I ask, are you unable to sign into the Kaspersky Password Manager, with your Master Password

or your https://my.kaspersky.com/ (account) web portal, with the same email address and password you use to sign into your https://community.kaspersky.com - the Community web portal, where you've created your topic?

Please let me know?
Thank you.
Yes, I can sign into Password Manager using my master password.
Sorry, should have mentioned that the password for the Community page has been saved and so I logged in "automatically".

Hello @ron.dullage,
Thank you for posting back, so the issue is signing into the https://my.kaspersky.com/ (account) web portal.
Sorry for the delay, it took me a little while to create the images.
(1) I've gone to: https://my.kaspersky.com/ (account) web portal, deliberately put the wrong password

(2) After several "wrong" passwords, an eCaptcha popup display. I ignore eCaptcha.
(3) I select Forgot your password, another popup displays, requesting I enter the email address I used to create my MyKaspersky account (which is the same email address used to log into https://community.kaspersky.com/)

(4) I enter my email address, a confirmation popup displays, telling me to check my mailbox

(5) In my Mail inbox, I have a Kaspersky RESET PASSWORD email, I select the RESET PASSWORD link

(6) Which redirects me to another popup: CHANGE PASSWORD,

(7) I enter my NEW password twice, select Continue

(8) Browser redirects to my https://my.kaspersky.com/ account, with my email address and new password automatically populating the user profile and password fields and automatically signs in...

Can you please let me know where the process is going wrong for you please?
Thank you.

Hello @ron.dullage,
Thank you for posting back, your lovely words🙏🏽and letting us know the issue is resolved.
I'm delighted🤸🏽, (I think) you're brilliant - your post will help others and you fixed it👏🏽
Two more little things, when signing into the Kaspersky Community portal, it will expect your new MyKaspersky account password, as the MyKaspersky account is the "controlling" account.
&
If you wish, for additional security, you can setup 2FA
My very best regards
