KPM Import csv

I need for the Kaspersky Password Manager the csv-format for the import of my existing passwords from EXCEL.

There exists only a very, very poor description for the csv-import!

Has somebody an sample-file?

Can it be (from KPM export format)?

Website name; Website URL; Login name; Login; Password; Comment

Do I have to store the csv in UTF-8 or ANSI?

Hello  @GTom,

Welcome!

Import file must be Unicode UTF-8 (.csv ), from a supported password manager.

Thank you

I can’t believe: is there NO plain csv import possible?

Hello @GTom,
I can give you a sample that works. Only comments are not transferred.
After the import you have to activate the entries manually.
Maybe you can use the template for further experiments of your own.

"Account","Login Name","Password","Web Site","Comments"
"Site1","User1","111111","www.site1.org","Comment1"
"Site2","User2","222222","www.site2.com","Comment2"

Thanks for the sample.

Because I need the comments, here another question:

Can I get the comments into KPM in the following way

  1. export my Excel-Tab with my PWDs e.g.  as csv into LASTPASS-Format (thats possible)
  2. import EXCEL-csv-file into LASTPASS
  3. export LASTPASS-Vault (with comments) into csv
  4. import LASTPASS-csv into KPM
  5. are the comments now in KPM?

Hello  @GTom,

I don’t know LastPass, however, KPM Export (.txt) includes “Comments”, the exported file extension can be changed to .csv…

  • :grey_question: Are the LastPass “Comments” freeform text?
  • :grey_question: Have you installed KPM Premium Trial to test?

Note: Kaspersky does advise: “Kaspersky Password Manager cannot ensure the integrity and completeness of data imported from other password management applications.”

:arrow_right: Kaspersky Premium Trial software includes Kaspersky Technical Support for the Trial period; the support team will not be able to answer questions about 3rd Party Software (for example, your LastPass questions), however, they may have additional information that assists you achieve your objectives:arrow_left:

Please let us know?

Thank you

Hi @GTom,
You are welcome to try the detour via LastPass. According to the online help it should work.

In the meantime I have tested some more .csv templates. But I never succeeded in importing comments.

@FLOOD

:grey_question: Are the LastPass “Comments” freeform text?
Yes, only max 50 characters from my via LASTPASS importet comments from EXCEL (abc 123 #() e.g.)

:grey_question: Have you installed KPM Premium Trial to test?
I use my license from Total Security

@Schulte
I can confirm, I have no succeed in importing comments too.

Any other idea or possibilities for the setup of my vault with including the import of my comments?

Yes, you are very right. Kaspersky can even import passwords from Firefox and no detailed description.

I can’t imagine this kind of support from Kaspersky.

Hello  @Gishan,

Welcome!

Have you raised the issues with Kaspersky Lab Technical experts? If so, what was their advice, please share it, there are many people in the Kaspersky Community who’d value the feedback?

Thank you.

I receive the following answer to my request from kaspersky support on 27.01.2020:

(this is my translation GER->ENG)

“…

Unfortunately there is no possibility to add comments in your CSV import format.

There is a suggestion with the number 4034042 to improve this and your request has been added to it. This process may take up to a year or even longer if the suggestion(s) is/are finally implemented in our latest version. For this reason we are not able to inform you about the progress.
However, you are welcome to contact us again in the future with the numbers to check on progress.

and here the original answer in german:

“…
