Hi, @Marc

Yes, the license Kaspersky Internet Security can be used on different computers (devices), change them, reinstall the antivirus. The main condition is compliance with the number of computers (devices) on which a license is simultaneously installed and active. https://support.kaspersky.com/13196

Hi Marc,
Additional to "Friend's" post:

Before you format, export Kaspersky application settings as follows:

  • Open [Settings, little cog/wheel], lower left hand corner of Kaspersky application window.
  • Select [Manage Settings]
  • Select [Export Settings]
  • This action will create a "Save As" popup window, to save a .cfg file: name the file, e.g. KIS-b4-PC-format & save this file to any of the following: USB drive, Cloud storage, DVD. Any storage resource you have available that will not be impacted by the reformat.
  • Also, sign in to your (MyK account) https://my.kaspersky.com/ account.
  • Go to: [Licenses] https://my.kaspersky.com/MyLicenses#/
  • Select [Details, little cog/wheel]
  • In the lower part of the [License/s][Details] screen, you'll see:

Activation code

S5xxx-xxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx

License key

5xxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx

Version

full

Activation date

Feb xx 1919, 1:39:03 AM (UTC)

  • Copy this information (select all, copy), paste to a text/notepad file & save file to same resource where you saved the Kaspersky application .cfg file.
  • If you use [Kaspersky Password Manager], perform a [Backup], export the Password Manager backup file to the same resource where you saved the Kaspersky application .cfg file.
  • Perform an export of all Kaspersky Password Manger entries, save the exported file to same resource where you saved the Kaspersky application .cfg file.
  • Perform PC reformat.
  • After reformat is complete & you reinstall Kaspersky application, you may need to reconnect the Kaspersky application to your MyK account: reference: https://help.kaspersky.com/KIS/2019/en-US/85580.htm
