Using Kaspersky 21.2.16.590 © on Windows 10

Recommendations → Go to “Details” from first screen

Notification Area

1 application update is available → Show  (the application is LibreOffice)

Update → installing the update………….

Been installing this application update for three days now!!!! Cannot stop it.

Tried killing via Kaspersky taks via Task Manager - does not work. Tried rebooting - doesn’t work.

Tried installing via LibreOffice website download/install exe file, and tried Repair LibreOffice in Control Panel programs list. for both get error :an install already in progress

Kaspersky does not have Cancel button for it.  How can I stop this installation which is obviously stuck?

Hello @pamelap

Welcome!

  1. Restore KIS Settings
  2. Shutdown using Shutdown, not Restart, power on, login.
  3. Check whether any applications installed on the computer are incompatible with KIS & remove any conflicting software ?
  4. Create a System restore point
  5. Close all browsers and any other applications.
  6. Uninstall KIS, save License information only, do not tick any other check boxes.
  7. Shutdown using Shutdown, not Restart, power on, login.
  8. Download  KIS v21.3.10.391
  9. Install KIS v21.3.10.391
  10. Shutdown using Shutdown, not Restart, power on, login.
  11. Run a manual Database update → allow it to complete.
  12. Run a Full scan → allow it to complete.
  13. Recheck LibreOffice issue?
  • Please let us know the outcome?

Thanks!

I hit a snag installing the latest version as above, but it said the Windows Installer was stopping it from continuing, so I killed Windows Installer which cleared the whole problem. I think the actual error was Kaspersky leaving the Windows Installer running even on reboot so could have cleared it by killing the installer without re-installing, but now I have everything up to date anyway.
