Hello  @Anushka Sanjuna,

Welcome!

  1. When did the portable hard disk get infected?
  2. When the .leto infection happened, did you contact Kaspersky Technical Support? If “yes”, what did they say?
  3. May we have a GSI & Windows Logs, upload to cloud & post back the link please?

Thank you.

Please see these articles related to Ransomware.

(*) “Ask for the tech support (only for Kaspersky’s paid products customers)”

Kaspersky contains a strong Ransomware protection module , but 100% security doesn’t exist.

:red_circle: Also after formatting  a hard disk ,
a GSI or system Log will not reveal wiped infection information 🔴

  3. Every week, create a System Restore Point.
  4. Every month, create a System Image.

  6. Make sure opsys is up to date - always.
  7. Setup & use automated KIS Scans.
  8. Use KIS Privacy Wizard on a regular basis.
  9. IF you contact Kaspersky Community, :octagonal_sign:always provide a GSI & Windows logs, irrespective of whether or not you’ve formated, we  can check the system:octagonal_sign:
  10. IF you contact Kaspersky Technical Support, :octagonal_sign:always provide a GSI & Windows logs, irrespective of whether or not you’ve formated, they  can check the system:octagonal_sign:
